Default when turning a crank how hard should it be

with the mains on, torqued to specs. i put 1-2-3 on torqued them down, 1-2 were easy stayed at 5lbs of preasure when turning the crank went to 3 and it went all the way to 12-13 lbs. was wondering is that strange?
any replies will be helpful

here's what he did...lol

He tightened one main cap at a time and turned the crank inside of that..and it seemed harder to turn with ONLY the 3rd main cap torqued, compared to just the 1st or 2nd main cap torqued....he tried explaining to me, and I said lube em up and torque em all down,....then rotate

ok torqued em all down, got em done and lubed up. now i go to turn the crank and its harder then **** to start to turn it and then once it is started its easy as pie wtf??????? is it suppose to be that way?

you are compressing air, its not supposed to be easy.

but it doesnt have pistons on the crank yet, its just the crank, it should be way easy to just turn the crank riiiiight?

what do you mean 1-2-3 torqued them down ? you talking about he journals that you torqued ? I hope not, you need to torque all 5 in a specific criss-cross order or you'll warp the crank ... what about bearing clearances ? have you checked them with plastigage ?

Did you use new bearings and new assembly lube?
Dont rotate the crank while torquing the caps.

How did you store the crank while it was out of the car?
You should stand it on end, or place it back on the block if the block is out.

Cranks can, and do warp!

cranks not warped had the machine shop take a look at it today. maybe the cap is bent??????? thas one of the only things i can come up with right now
