Default Supercharger Questions For Civic 1998 CX

Im looking into getting a jackson racing supercharger for my 1998 Civic HB (cx). First of all, is it even worth it, or are there other better (less expensive) mods that will give me the same types of increases? Also, if I do decide to supercharge (not turbo) should I go with Jackson racing, and if so, how much am I looking at for the parts and labor? Any help with be greatly appreciated...thanks all

Just do a swap a jrsc will cost aroun $2000-5000 plus instalation. and on a d16 cx motor you will not even be making the power of a b16a2

If you're willing to spend $2000 plus on your D16. I say you spend swapping in B16A1. That will give you a lot more power than supercharged D16.

I would seriously consider turbo if your keeping the D series..or at least swapping in a better d series like a d16z6 or y8

yes, do like ^ said....you could swap in a full D16Y8 change over for around 500-800 bucks for everything. This also includes a WAY better tranny than your CX.

Then buy yourself a used kit, or even a turbo kit. With the swap and say 2000 for SC/turbo and some sort of fuel management, you'll be killing dohc swapped hatches...

you dont need a new d series engine... just a new head and tranny. yours are the suck. but with a z6 or y8 head, tranny and sc you will be good to go. and yes it will make a more power than a b16 pos.

ok thanks for the good info...so say i do a swap with a b16a2, first all, how much do you think ill be looking at for all the new parts (tranny, engine, installation) cus I sure as hell cant do it on my own? Do you all think the b16a2 is the best way to go or would another engine be better. Basically, im sick of having the slowest civic in town with a auto tranny...I need some get up and a manual and ill be a happy kid. Unfortunately I am on a limited budget, so Im probably gonna have to go used. Any one know of some good places in Colorado (or on the web) to get this stuff fairly reasonable? Thanks again
