when did the Vortech for the GSR come out??? i thought vortec was still designing that and they only had it for the SI,..anyways if it produces power for the GSR like it does the SI then go vortech,..but im partial to boost

I have the same setup as you. '94 B18C1 in a '92 CX. I say stay NA. I've tossed around the idea of going turbo, but I've seen WAY too many setups fail. I need the reliability.

What are your plans with the car? Just a daily driver? Drag? Weekend racer?
The vortech kits only make thir full power at the top of the RPM band (aka turbo on a stick)
The JSRC is a better choice for SC, but they are known for problems
Turbo is great, but you have to invest in extra parts to make it reliable.

JRSC are pretty much crap...too much $ for little power
MOST Vortech Sc'ed SI coupes can hit 13's

I say get a b16a bottom end and use the head that you have now...Get a JRSC and have all the bearings replaced so that you can throw a CR-V pulley on the JRSC and push out 12 psi of boost.

1. dragIIcivic's answer is the best.
2. all motor is just as expensive and not anymore reliable than jrsc or turbo.
3. 5th gen w/8lb jrsc and street tires goes 13.20.
4. 5th gen w/inline pro custom turbo and street tires goes 12.60.

It depends on what you want to do w/ your car.
I`ll assume you are another fwd drag racer. Imo, a reliable setup would be a b18c w/ an 80-100 shot direct port kit. Cheap & affective.
