I would highly suggest getting a Si transmission to go with the Z6 motor. Not too many parts from the HF would help you with the Z6.

Basically nothing really. Your going to need a 90-91 Si tranny, wiring/harness and ECU to change over to OBD whatever.

well actually not really, you could use your stock wiring harness and you could use your stock tranny, and you could keep it obd zero, now i believe you can run the engine off the hf ecu but it'd be shitty, so best to go with either switching the car over to obd1 (best way to do it, but overall the hardest) or you could keep the car obd0 and get a rpm activated switch and use either the integra ecu 88-89 or the crx si ecu, or you could just plug everything up and run a couple extra lines for vtec and use a pr3 or pw0 ecu, those are both vtec ecu's that are obd0.

I have a 88 hf with d16z... My vtec is not connected yet, due to the fact that i dont have the ecu yet..But im pretty sure it should be a p28.... And yes you can use the hf tranny, but like the guy said the 89-91 tranny is best to use because of the gear ratio... You cannot use the d16z tranny unless you do a cable to hydro conversion which i think would be to hard.. Anyways im not sure of times..Good luck

A p28 is correct if going with a vtec ecu. Then you would also have to switch to an OBD1 distributor. The PR3 and PW0 will not work because they are designed for a DOHC program. I also have an 88 HF w/ a D16z6, but alas, still don't have vtec hooked up.

dude i'm sorry to tell you this but you are way wrong about the pr3 and pw0 they will work just fine, there is no such thing as a DOHC program. That's like saying using the ZDyne Ecu for this swap is silly because you can use it on the b16 as well, well sorry bud but the jdm vtec obd0 ecu's will work, and they will work damn good and that's the easiest way to do it.
