opinions on a block gaurd please
I was thinking about getin a block gaurd and just wanted to get some opinions and fact from the honda-tech specialists. I have a built gsr bottom end with a t3/t4 E turbonetics turbo and hondata s200. Will be running 10-12 psi daily and 15 on race gas at the track. THANX fellas!
I have never used one, but a friend of mine has. Personally, I think resleeving is the best way to go. My friend used one for 3months. We, were doing a rebuild on his motor so we began taking the motor apart. When we pulled the head, we noticed that the block guard was sitting halfway down the sides of the cylinders. Not on top like he had installed it. I guess from all the vibration it just slid down. The blockguard was useless. If I were you, I would just save up and do it the right way. If you want to run higher boost levels, this is necessary. That's just my opinion. Good luck.
I would love o just sleeve it right now but I just aint got the time or the money. I plan on buying another block later on and sleeving it then. What do you mean by "higher" boost? I mean I want to run 10-12 daily and MAYBE 15 at the track. Of course finely tuned with hondata. thanx
