Default Hasports + HCP A/C mount?

I've read something lately that makes me scared there might not be enough room to keep a/c with my hasport mounts in my EG.

I called up Hasport and he pretty much said...

They've got no clue at all if it'll fit, They wouldn't use any HCP products personally, and that they've got no clue whatsoever when their own A/C bracket will be out.

Does anybody know from experience?

If there's not enough room, I'm totally going to have to sell these mounts. Not having a/c is not an option for me at all.

And I'd kind of like to know before I hack of my frame rail mount.

I can not answer your question out of experience. But I can tell you this, I am using HCP mounts in my 99 coupe only bc hasport has yet to release h series mounts for my year car. But in my case since I am running a gsr radiator(full length and dual core) the condensor would hit the radiator. I think if I ran a half radiator then maybe the ac would have fit, but I still would have had clearance issues with the ac fan. This prolly doesnt help you but I tried.

If you wanted to keep a/c in your car, you'd get a Del Sol VTEC (dual core half length radiator), chop off the condensor fan, and mount a slim fan on the front of the condensor

Anybody else know?

Those with Hasport mounts...how much clearance do you have between the radiator support and the block?

If you've already got the hasport kit and your h22 mounted, take the fan off of the condensor, but leave the condensor in place.

If there's enough room for the compressor between the condensor and the block, then you can fit a/c.

All you have to do is put a slim fan on the front side of the condensor.

Like I said, I'd like someone who's already got an engine mounted with Hasports to give me some measurements or something before I hack my frame rail mount off.

If it's not going to fit, I'm going to sell the Hasports and get HCP.

Hot_eg : im using Hasport+hcp A/C kit, tell you what though its tight as hell, but it fit, i had to push the condensor all the way forward and mount on a slim fan (from Advance auto part $50)where the old fan was. Newman said to put the fan in front, but theres no way in hell a fan will fit around the bumper beam.
Part of the pipes that connects to the compressor will rub agaist the condensor and you have to kinda bend or push the ac pipes thats near the alternator pulley, push it away from it. tough job and hell i even slap on the P/S pump. Cut a bit off the cross member and it fit like OEM( now just waiting for a prelude p/s pressure line ) i wish i can post up pics to show but damn im on 56k and it take forever to upload.
and btw my ac now sucks, i dont know why but it drops my idle down soo low that my car vibrates like a bitch

neat.

But it DOES fit? Even with the HCP it's a tight fit ..... bottom line, it will fit?

Can you get some pics up? I've got 56K and it really doesn't take that long to upload the pics unless it's like 8 page size pics.

I dont know, it IS a tight fit with the HCP. The compressor pulley is about 1/4" if not less for hitting the left front tow hook you will probably have to take the hook out. Being that the HAS kit pushed the motor forward compared to the HCP it doesnt look like it will work. just my opinion though.

Bottom line "it will fit", but you have to push or bend some stuff around a bit
you will need 2 thin top 14mm bolt to mount the HCP bracket on the block so the compressor wont hit it when you bolt the compressor on the bracket.
Cut about 1/2 inch off two of the 4 oem compressor bolt.

fastwanabe, didn't you say when you put it all together that you mounted the compressor in place before you dropped the motor in, because there's not enough room to get the bolts in after it's dropped?

Or am i just dreaming this up?

I'll be doing the swap early next week, just trying to figure out the best way to get it done.

actually no, what I had to do was take the compressor off and once the motoe is in I put it back on. BUT... the bottom bolts have to be put into the compressor hole before you put it on, then the top bolts can go on. you will need smaller length bolts for the bottom ones or use spacers like I did.HTH

you said it yourself thats the only way it will work... you have to do that. how about making your own bracket that will fit a little better?

here are my pics HCP kit w/ HCP a/c adapter

as you can see its pretty tight and I still have to put a fan in there, but from looking at cerv's pics maybe a fan will fit.HTH
