OBDI engine harness, distributor and injectors
92-95 D driver mount, tranny mounts, rear mount
D axles, D shift linkage
Rewire from 1 wire to 4 wire O2, add VTEC solenoid and pressure switch wiring

That should cover the important parts.

actually if he has a cx hatch and he's just uppin to a VTEC SOHC motor, all his mounts will stay the same i believe.
and his car is already OBD-I.
and already has a 'D' motor in it. Thus shift linkage is the same.
Only diff between in his Cx hatch others with 'D' series motors is the non-VTEC and the VTEC motor.
you will have to wire up the VTEC solenoid if you run your exisiting harness. Plus i hope you got injectors and all that with it?

thanks guys i do have the complete new motor, along with some extra stuff. all injectors included, and all wiring from both motors. i feel pretty confident that i have everything sorted out, and that i will be able to get this done and running in 2-3 days.

thank you for your input

similar question i have...i'm dropping a 99 ex engine from an auto into a 93 dx, i have the si tranny, complete ex engine, dist, axles, etc, and an ecu from a 98ex. Is there a way to drop it in without making my own solenoid activation for vtec? can i pull a harness from another car?

you can get the 2 VTEC plugs with the wires/pins still attached and wire it up from the solenoid all the way to the ECU. or you can get just the plugs and tap in your own wires from there to the ECU without using the harness plugs and pin connections.

but if you have an EX harness already then you can just use that. then you only need to run the VTEC wires from the ECU to the Engine harness, instead of from the VTEC solenoid to the ECU. and the OBD2 EX ECU can be ditched for a P28 to run the motor. if the dist. is an OBD2 EX then it may need to be repinned/repluged to OBD1 so it works. but i'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to dist. wiring so i may be wrong. maybe the OBD2 SOHC VTEC dist. can be plugged right into the engine harness (if OBD2 also) and controlled without trouble by the P28 OBD1 ECU?
