My 92 Prelude has starting troubles, here are the symptoms

- When parked on a tilt at idle, it makes the revs drop

- When i goto start the car it starts but dies seconds after, pressing on the gas to keep it alive does nothing

- Sometimes when im waiting at the traffic lights the revs drop and rise, they drop to the point where it makes the car vibrate alittle

Thats all i can think of for now but any help would be appreciated

 

sounds like its either the fuel pump or your injectors.

 

maybe its not getting fuel when its tilted, maybe pump is going...
have you had the lil things like spark plugs, wires, oil changed?

i have this problem too..honda told me that it was prob. due to the fact i have the coolent bypass on my TB done....thats bull cause other people who dont have that done , do the same thing. It sucks a stop lights casue people think your reving your **** up and you kinda get down low and hind i would love to find out what the hell is wrong

 

I was thinking it was the fuel pump too, because i red somewhere that you should be able to hear it before you start your car but ive only heard it afew times. Are you suppose to hear it everytime?

 

Yes, everytime. If it isn't running, you're car won't start, so it is running... quietly...

 

yeah i guess thats another symptom too, it just plain wont start sometimes and all i get is that nasty screech

 

while im at it ill add hesitation to that list as well, its infrequent but its still thier.

Im starting to hate my car
