helium question
I've put almost 25K miles on my car, and I figure it is about time to change the air in my tires. I was wondering who makes the best air for high performance tires, and wher is the cheapest place to buy it? Also, how much weight can I save if I fill my tires with helium? Thanks for any info.
I saved about 1 lb on each corner when I switched to helium and because it is rotating mass, the effective weight savings was even greater. It's not really a noticeable change, unless you REALLY look for it.
F1 teams use nitrogen because it has less moisture, which can lead to hot spots on racing tires...
...but you should use whipped cream, that stuff is the bomb, and when you get a blowout it's delicious!
or fill them with sand and you'll never get another flat.
For crazy effects, fill them with postassium and drive through puddles!

interesting thread though, never even considered anything other than air, or maybe CO2 in my tires.
