Default jrsc and ignition timing question...

i'll be putting a jrsc on my b18b motor pretty soon and had a question about the timing?

i'll be running 6psi and was wondering if it will be okay to keep my timing at the normal setting, not advanced and not retarded? or do i have to retard the timing some? i'm only going to run 6psi for now.

any suggestions?

You will need to retard your timming to about 10 Deg base , You might be able to bump it a little from there.

Get a BTC. You can pick one up pretty cheap if you keep an eye on the Forced Induction Classifieds here or at "Forced Induction Integras" at hostboard.com. If you retard your base timing then you are running with less power even when you are not under boost.

My BTC eliminated detonation with only .6 degree retard per pound of boost when I was running 5.5 psi. That was only a total of 3.3 degrees at full boost, but I have a ITR (b18c) so that could make a big difference.

so using a standard timing light, i would have to set it above the top line when looking at the three lines for the timing setting?

i'm going to get a timing light with the dial in asap too.
