I was wondering if I could still install the VAFC or fields using a non vtec ecu. How would I be able to do this? Anyone have instructions on how to? I dont want to run vtec with an rpm switch cuz the fuel maps.

yes it is possible. you connect everything but the VTEC wire. its as simple as that.

 

so how would the vtec be activated? What would I connect to get the vtec running?

 

vtec wires from the controller to Vtec solinoid/pressure ....

So what you want to do is use non-VTEC ecu on a VTEC motor, and let the VAFC handle all the VTEC duties?

I don't know the answer, I'm just clarifying your question because it seems like you're getting some different answers based on people's interpretation of what you asked.

 

Top portion of the motor is a vtec head. Bottom is my D16Y7 block. I have a rpm activated switch which I did not install yet because of the fuel problems that it would create. Trying to see if I can install the VAFC only or a fields to take care of everything. I can also use the rpm switch if I have to.
