OK my car is all f*cked up. The other day it would start and the idle was a little bouncy but not very bad. But when i drive the car it ran like ***!!! So i put on a new AICV on today and all it did was help the idle! I am clueless. Its a zc engine and i have had it in for like a week. It was running fine except for the idle was bad(thats y i replaced the AICV) But then a few days ago when i was driving it, I hammered on it a little (enough to squeel the wheels in second) and as i got high up in the rpms the car started to sputter. (but it drove ok in low rpms.) but as i drove it more it got worse and worse. It was like it wasn't sparking. But i had good spark when i put the engine in. So i don't know what the problom is???? What could cause the car to start fine, now it idles fine, but when i give it gas it sputters, coughs and drives like ***!

bad 02 sensor maybe
does the car bog at WOT or when you lightly hit the gas
at wot the ecu starts putting in fuel w out checking w the o2, so the o2 sensor is pretty much useless then, so if your car still sputters at wot then its something else besides the o2

 

any codes?

 

no codes, the o2 sensor is pretty old. Now that i think about it, if i do just quickly hammer on the throtle it dosn't really sputter.

 

fuel filter ? i m not sure maybee do a tune up . Plugs ,wires, cap, rotor fuel filter . couldnt hurt

 

ok i put a new o2 sensor in, and it did nothing. The car has a new dizzy cap,rotor, wires, pluges, fuel filter, and a AICV. But the car still runs like ****!! It will start fine and idle good but as soon as i push on the gas it runs like ***!! What else could it be??? When i hit the throtle it is all poping and sputering, but then it idles good. i am pissed! and the check engine light is on but i have know codes!?!?!? that is weird too!

 

try turning your car off and then just turning it on to the 'on' position not actually starting, see if it pops a code then

i had a very similar situation last year on my A6. i was just driving then , hit a small bump, and the car sounded like ***, had no power, but idled fine. i couldn't figure it out at all. my uncle came over and looked at it. one of the plug wires was off the cap. but it looked like it was on till he pulled on it. double check all the connections with the plug wires.

 

curiosity makes me ask about your cams ~ did you put them or have they never been takin out.

 

no i didn't mess with my cams at all. they never left the head.
I will check my wires. one of the ones i put on broke and i had to "fix it" mabye it came apart again or something?

 

is it posssible for the timeing belt to jump a tooth while driving? cause right befor the problom occured i was hammering on the car pretty good. the timeing belt is tighten down though.

 

i dont know.....but when my car boggs down....the first thing I check is the dizzy....just by habit....check that....hondas are famous for having no good dizzy's...
