free play on a new turbo ?

Default free play on a new turbo ?

my new turbo seems to have a slight free play on the compressor wheel , side to side but not in and out , is that normal ?

like how much? .1 mm or what? the oil will fill the space around the thrust bearing when its moving so if its not TOO much it should be fine.

Shaft play generally refers to the in and out discrepencies... It should wiggle some side to side but not much if any in and out.. Sounds like your good to go.. Bolt it up and ride !

if you tape the oil return and fill the hole with oil the shaft play will go away. that i was cool trick Camp1320.com showed someone ,who was talking **** to him saying that a brand new turbo was bad.(DUMBASS). when shaft play accurs in and out that is when you know the turbo is bad. Usually minor shaft play up and down on a dry turbo will occur
