Default vibration in gas pedal

ok, so lately at around 2500 rpm I get a noticeable (not huge) vibration through my gas pedal. It usually only happens in second gear. If I accelerate hard its much more noticeable. I have a 94 ex coupe. Any possible suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ok, I checked the lugs and they were all nice and tight. The vibration is still there. Any other ideas? I'm clueless at this point.

Does it happen in Neutral? You said it usually only happens in 2nd gear, but has it ever occurred in neutral?

Try to duplicate the problem in neutral with a friend watching the throttle cable in the engine bay and see if anything unusual happens. Perhaps something is hopping around and tugging at the throttle cable???

Bad inner c/v joints maybe?

This is what I was thinking. The inner CV joints will indeed give you a rumbling type of vibration under acceleration ... mostly. If the vibration is there when you are NOT moving ... then rule these out. The only thing that is strange to me ... unless I read it wrong ... is that it only happens in a certain gear at a certain RPM.

ok so I took her out on the road and really concentrated so I could get the whole picture. The vibration is there under acceleration. Its most noticeable in 2nd gear around 2500rpm but its there in the other gears. Once I get up around 3k it smooths out. If its the cv joints then I'll be pissed cuz I just had the whole front axle assembly replaced not more than a month and a half ago. Can you replace just the cv assembly or am I correct in believing that thats part of the axle assembly. I just found my haynes manual and looked in the troubleshooting and lo and behold, it says bad cv joints is a possible cause of my problem. I might take it back to my mechanic.

I am assuming that you probably had rebuilt axles installed. There is a possibility that one of the axles is bad.

You can indeed rebuild the inner joint on the axle ... it is NOT all one piece.

I took it in to my mechanic and he checked everything out. He found a bubble on my right rear tire and found that my front tires were mounted the wrong direction. I guess they can only spin one way. So he put the fronts on the back and a new tire and the other rear which was kinda new on the front. He couldn't find anything wrong with the axles. He's a real honest guy so I was looking in my haynes and it says that toe in can cause vibration in the drivetrain so I'm gonna have the allignment checked.
