There are three nuts that hold the fuel rail onto three posts on the manifold. the two outter nuts won't go anywhere, they just sit and spin in the same place. WTF? I am so pissed. The injectors aren't seated right and so they're not sealing properly against the rail and it's leaking fuel everywhere. Also, two of the injectors do not have the little orange cap thingies that go on the top of the injector (fuel rail side). Is that going to be a big problem?
Anyone have any ideas why the nuts just spin and won't move up or down the post? Even more helpful would be any suggestion to get them off.
Thanks,
Trevor

the studs broke loose! you're gonna have to find a way to hold the studs still while you try to break the nuts free. and get some new o-rings and gaskets

do you have a digicam so we can see what exactly you are talking about ?
there are three threaded posts coming off the top of the intake manifold. the fuel rail has three holes on it that these posts go through. there are three nuts that then go on to hold the rail tight to the manifold and the injectors. the nuts on the outter two posts are just stuck about 1.5 cm down the post. they spin and spin, but they won't move up or down the post. i think the threads in that section are shot, and i can't get the nuts to thread up the posts to get them off.
does that make sense?

i got it figured out, and yes the studs were stripped to crap... that was not an adventure that i'd like to repeat ever again. oh well, the MPFI setup is *SO* much nicer than the DPFI. the car can actually accelarate on the highway without having to downshift now. i'm that much more prepared for the b17 swap.
sweet ! sorry i couldn't be of any help
i'm still waiting for the weather to warm up even more to start on my MPFI swap.
