Default SAFC *hack* help

Well everything is on the civic (d16z6) now...DSM 450cc's w/ resistor box and Greddy kit with custom IC from Tyrus from Homemadeturbo.com...the only thing now that i need is help on tuning the Safc...I need to be able to tune it, even just to idle decent to drive to inlinepro (about 10-20 miles away)...my problem is that its running VERY rich...even when i lean it out (1k) all the way to -50%, the car still runs rich and spits out a lot of black smoke and just idles horrible...it just struggles and sounds like its about to stall...when i rev it, the rpm stutters to go up and then hesitates back down, and dips below 500rpm's (sometimes stalling) i've set the sensor to 6in and 6out, put the cyl on 4 with the arrow pointing from bottom left upwards to the right...i've tried playing with the hi/low settings and still no luck...i know its hooked up right (at least i think so) because the first time i installed it, it ran great for about 20 mins...then began to run extremely rich...anyone want to help me before I make an appointment at inlinepro? TIA

also, can/does anyone have pics of the wiring (real pic, not diagram) for the wiring on the safc on a p28? for the air pressure sensor, which wire goes to the "IN" wire on the safc and which goes to the "OUT"? Thanks for ANY kind of help...and yes i've read a lot of the pages on the search and still no luck

Yeah i used that...i was looking for the actual pics...but its ok though...i got it running decent...wired the map in/out wrong...right now the car idles decent, boost transition sucks...once i hit 3500 - 4k it bogs a bit and its kind of hard to feel the boost kick in...maybe its because i'm at 5psi? Other than that, its pretty driveable and doesnt smoke anymore...i'll be driving it to InlinePro hopefully on monday so they can tune it, rather than paying a grip to have it towed...anyone else have suggestions as to what kind of settings i should try...i know all cars are different and all, but anything would help...thanks

1K - -33%
2K -33%
3-8 -36%

Thats where i got it to idle decent, but not sure for the boost rpm's (3400+)

Now that the car is running, just get it to inline pro and throw that badboy on the dyno

Are your injectors cleaned and flow tested?? If so what are the flow results? I had a problem with my DSMs as they were all flowing inconsistently and were not running good. You might want to check them out...

you're at 5 psi with 450s, verdad? Your settings are probably too rich. I was using the settings off The Drop Shop's webage, which were -40% between 1K-4K and then gradually richening it up to -35% up top. I got dyno tuned and had them up the boost to 7 psi, and the tuner lowered the idle to -45% and it's still pretty rich. That's probably why your car feels like it's bogging--running way too rich. But just hop on the dyno and see. speculation won't do any good.

yeah i guess i'll just stop guessing and take it to inline...hopefully they wont laugh at my ghetto set up ...all i have to do now is try to set my IC so i can put my bumper back on...oh when i was changing the charge pipes, i noticed oil in the charge pipe connected to the turbo? that mean oil is coming from the turbo?

Damn Darkside...oh well

****, man, you should've heard how much flak I got from my tuner when he saw my setup. He called me up on my cell and said to get the **** down there. When I popped my head in the garage, he started bitching about how the hack was half-assed and 50-cent and all this **** and how I'm going to get HORRIBLE gas mileage. When I went to pick up my car after the dyno tune, he admitted my setup worked better than he expected and that everything was running well! Just convince the tuner that it'll work; if he's good, he'll know what to do. Too bad my HKS boost controller crapped out two days later.

dang...what should i say to convince them that it would work? hopefully they know about it and know how to tune it...anybody know anything about the turbo in the charge pipe? Guessing its the turbo seals? How can i test to see if it is in fact the seals? its only on the first charge pipe connected to the turbo...look for smoke coming from....? dang problem after problem...

nope i didnt use all the wires...forgot which ones i didnt use...blue, pink, and yellow i think?

as far as the oil in the charge pipe, i'm pretty sure its the seals...the car runs fine except when idling or braking...hopefully (crosses fingers) it'll make it to inline tomorrow and hopefully they can get it to run perfectly...anyone have any suggestions?
