Default Garett GT30 turbo, anyone running?

I heard lots of good things of it and it is worth the money, is is ballbearing too, what I want for even quicker spool. I am into the T04e .63 a/r but what exactly the difference between the 52 compressor trim and the 56 compressor trim. I know the 56 trim will give more lag and more top end, but it is a big difference and what would you do for AutoX boosting 0.45 Bar at those events. I need imediatly that amount of boost when I WOT at 5000 or above. Good with 56trim or better the 52?

I have now non ball bearing T3/T04e .63 a/r, .54 compressor stage 3 wheel. and I liked it with the log style DRAG manifold.

Setup: B18C6, cr 9:1, Haltech ECU, 3inch exhaust & dp, tubular manifold, daily boost = 1.2 Bar

btw: whats the diff between ceramic ball bearing and the Garetts new full steel ball bearing cartridge, not ceramic.....that sounds Ceramic is not that good. someone can explain me?!

Yes, the GT series of Garrett turbo's are FULL ball bearing center sections wich means instead of a single row of ball bearing(like normal ball bearing turbo's), there are dual ball bearings rows. The average seems to be that you can spool 600 rpm faster(or more) when compared to turbo's of the same size depending on your setup. The main benefit of this turbo is the fact that in between shifts, the turbo does not lose any velocity/spool whatsoever.

This is only a very simple explanation of this turbo. Hopefully someone else can elaborate if needed.

I hope to have my GT3040 next month >=] I'm not too sure but I think the GT30 has water cavities too.

I have a GT25 (or GT28, different sites say different things)...geez i wish i had all the rest of the bits needed to bolt it on right now

GT25 is oil and water cooled, i'd assume all the GT series are like that

Another thing with the GT series turbo's is that you definitaly wanna run an inline oil filter. These turbo's will last forever, but It was HIGHLY recommended to use the filter because of the dual ball bearing cartridge.

let me get this straight, you wanna auto-X..... to4e .63 a/r, and quick spooling, thats wishful thinking imho., not flaming, just seems odd...... such a big turbo for .45 bar, 7-ish psi, i have a non BB t3t4, but i think BB is not the total cure for lag

im running the GT3040 on my h22a atm. The engine fully spools by 4,000 rpms but this is at only 10 psi. With WOT you should be able to spool it about 5k rpms if ur motor is a 1.8...

I did 10 times AutoX last season with my T3/T04e .63 A7r and talking about a lag is realy not that od an drama, still noticeable but realy not that bad.
