my guess is one of your connections to your speakers are shorting to ground (IE> the connector on the speaker is touching something metal) or something of that nature. Rather odd in that car to be touching metal, but that would shut it down.
can t be because i hooked up another speaker that wasnt even installed in the door to it and it didnt work either..? BTW one of the speakers worked for a minute, when we were putting it in, then when we hooked the second one up, it stopped.
heh take a pic... it's really hard without being able to see. It sounds almost as if the speakers are hooked together like a common ground between them... which would cause this type problem. THat or a speaker shorting out, a speaker line, maybe when you push it in the harness is getting bent too far, etc.
whats to take a pic of...that cannot possibly help... we straight hooked an uninstalled speaker hardwired to the harness...and only one, so there couldnt be 2 speakers grounding eachother...hmm, this is making me so mad that i have no music...dammit
When you connected the extra speaker from outside the car, did you disconnect the other speakers(that are in the car) because it still won't play if it is grounding.
When you turn the accesory off and then on, do you hear a very soft an subtle pop from either speaker? If so, that speaker is grounding. Also you can check the impedence from the speaker at the deck to see if they or the wires are good.

1st what kind of car/year?
is the radio actually on and u just dont have any sound?
if so past posts are probably correct
pull the radio out of the dash and disconnect all speakers
turn radio on and take a speaker (one that is not installed in your car) and hook it up to one channel of your radio at a time.
if you now get music from the test speaker then you do have something shorted to ground on the old speakers.
reconnect one speaker at a time until the radio shuts off again and u will know which speaker is causing the problem
