Default Is it my alternator?

I posted this in the tech forum, but I also wanted to see if I could get some help in here. As I was driving tonight, my car started to loose power, and my lights started to dim. Eventually my car stopped working. I went to try and start it back up and nothing. I let it sit for about 20 minutes and it started back up, but after driving, the same thing would happen and my car would eventually die again. I recentely put a new alternator belt on. It seems really tight. Could this have any affect, or is my alternator completely dead? Is my belt too tight, or does this have nothing to do with it? My battery light also came on. Thanks in advance.

have you changed your altenator at all? is the battery you have a new one? i had the same problem with my crx and it was a bad altenator. you can bring it by a checkers or auto zone and they can check it for you for FREE!

Yeah I was thinking about doing that today. The battery is less than a year old. How hard is it to change an alternator? I have never done it before. And also, would autozone have an alternator in stock, or should I order threw Honda. I really don't have another car, so I need to get this done ASAP.

Got my alt at autozone for $90 after core refund. Installation isn't too difficult...Do a search and you'll find alot of info. There are several ways to do it...I used the 'loosen the master cylinder' technique...

Yeah I just did a search. I have the B18 in my crx, and in the searches it tells me that integra owners must remove the left side axle for removal of the alternator. Will I have to do the same thing in my crx, or will there be enough clearance?

Thanks for the help. I just hope it is my alternator. I don't want to buy a new one, put it on, and then run into the same problem. But I am pretty sure that's what it is.
