Default how many wish they could have just bought a "kit" instead of pieceing it together

i was thinking abou this...i have a few more things to order and I'm at $3,300. Which is a little more then a drag kit. I think my kit will make more then a drag. But how many wish they would have just bought a kit, instead of piecing.

That's a chunk of change, your car will be a beast though.

I'll DIY until I die.

Going custom is the best, and only way to do a turbo kit. Turbo kits never come with good fuel management, and you always want more power than what the kits were designed for. My rule of thumb, if you want 300whp do your build-up for 400whp because you'll eventually get there.

2.drag intercooler and ic piping (trigun member of ht) $600
3.tial 35mm waste gate afterhourz.com $210
4.greddy type s used(partstrader) $100
5.max rev down pipe and manifold (importparts.com) $550
6.oil feed kit (flamenco-T) with bung for pan and drain fitting $65
7.fuel pump (lighting) $100

find that much in a kit for around 2600

all i need left is my injectors wich will prolly be around 100 if i go dsm or 275-300 if i go rc and i am done (p.s. have my header and aem sold for the price of my injectors lol)

Precision SC44 .60/.63 Turbo $750
Tial 35mm Waste $210
HKS SSQ BOV & Flange $235
RevHard Intercooler 27x6.5x3 / RevHard piping $750
Rev Hard Downpipe $250
Rev Hard Cast manifold $400
oil feed $60
Oil Return $75
t-bolt clamps $40
couplings $30
misc fittings - $50
DSM 450cc Injectors (Balanced and Cleaned) - $150
Sonny's resistor box - $50
Hondata S100 Installed and tuned - $700

Total - $3750

Here a a custom kit I threw together on paper the other day. It's more or less a stripped down RH 2c kit minus fuel componets with Hondata, Injectors and resistor box added.

Plus the oil return line, clamps, and BOV are upgraded.

All of this is brand new minus the DSM injectors.

yes, and the only reason is I would have a nice intercooler instead of my tiny greddy intercooler. Other then that I'm happy that I went custom. saved a little dough

i spent a lil more than a kit but, i am also making more hp out of my car than most kits at the same boost level. Also I got a GOOD return/supply line, GOOD fuel setup all of which you will not get with most kits.
