make lights flash w/ keyless (96-98 civic ex)
anyone know how to do this? Ive tried connecting the horn wire to the lights, but it doesnt work... Any ideas? Im tapped on this one...
(i searched and found nothing)
The horn relay is negative and the parking lights are positive...so...is there some kind of relay I can use? And if there is...how would I go about wiring it up?
Please help, I really wanna do this because I really hate that stupid horn...

You will need to wire up a Polarity Reversing Relay and you will need to know which wire is the parking light wire.
The relay is pretty easy.
If the horn output of the alarm is negative, then here are your relay pins:
85 - (-) output from alarm
86 - +12v (must be constant power, not ignition)
87 - +12V (must be constant power, not ignition)
30 - Output (will be +12v) that should be connected to your parking light wire
This will convert your negative alarm output to a positive output to drive the parking lights. Be sure to disconnect the horn and use fuses where applicable.

those are the pins on the relay?
I called radio shack and they said they didnt have a polarity reversing relay...is there another place I could get one; or would you happen to know the relay's id number?

just a normal bosch styrl relay will work, that is what was meant by a polarity reversing relay. otherwise known as a single pole double throw relay. radio shack should have them. otherwise stop in at a best buy or other stereo shop. you are gonna have to find the horn output from the keyless module (built in the factory radio) it will be in one of the 2 green plugs commoing out of the back of the radio. cut that wire and connect it to the relay, that way you can use that horn output to flash the lights instead of the horn and the horn will still work. goodluck man
sorry to eep doing this, but Im an idiot on this one...
would this work?
here
I think it has too many wires though... If this isnt it, could someone find a picture of what I need so I can confirm it when I go to buy one...?

Yes that is the right relay. It has 5 pins, I just listed the only 4 that you will be using. The other pin is in the center of the 5 and is labeled 87a. It wont be used in your application.
There isnt really such thing as a polarity reversing relay, it is just a wiring configuration. I just called it that for lack of a better term. Pep Boys, AutoZone Walmart and any other place you can think of sell relays for about $5. I suggest getting a Bosch, as I know that they work.

sweet man, thanks a ton. When I called asking about a polarity reversal relay I felt like I was talkin to Han Solo or somethin...
I need to head on out and find that relay now...
Thanks again, both of you

If you are ordering the relay from online go to http://www.partsexpress.com. They are a lot cheaper.
I was planning on getting it from best buy or circuit city anyways...if not there I was going to give radio shack anther call...no shipping means even cheaper
