remote start
ok i have a remote start on my 92 civic manual tranny. the guys that did the install partially installed the remote start but not all. if you try to remote start it the check engine light and battery light comes on like it is trying to start or it is on the "on" position. what else do i have to wire to get it to work?
did it ever work correctly?
if there is no cranking at all, my guess is that the starter wire is not connected properly or the clutch switch was never bypassed. Possibly no tach connection either.

well, your best bet is to look up under the dash and check for missing harnesses or non-connected wires from the main RS/Alarm unit and start testing. but by the sounds of it, maybe just a few wires need connecting.
Well I know in IL it is not legal for a shop to over ride the clutch switch. I would say try the remote start with the cluch in and see if it does anything. It if starts then all you have to do is over ride the clutch switch.
the bypass (override) is only durning remote start, otherwise it works like normal.
i wasn't thinking before, i would suggest the aide of a pro to do this kind of install, an auto tranny isn't so bad, but when messing with a 5sp, disaster can strike. Trust me, you don't want that.
