new Konis leaking shock oil on DC5
I installed Konis on my RSX with the help of a friend a month or so ago. I was adjusting the fronts today when I saw oil on the adjustment ***** on both sides on the fronts. Anyone have any clue as to what could cause this and what I can do to alleviate it?
Thanks!
Thanks!
that same thing happened to me...i installed mine about a month ago and one week later (after the install) i went to adjust the right front strut and shock oil was all over my top hat (seems to be leaking right around the adjuster seal)...i'm still waiting for the replacement strut to come in...it's been way over two weeks already...
so i'm not the only one having this problem....hmmm...
Edit: how are your rear struts? are they leaking also...i haven't checked mine yet...late

veeerry interesting...you have an RSX also? You are correct, it is leaking right around the adjustment **** for me too. Rears are 100% fine. How did you handle this with Koni?
yeah i have an ABP Type S also...
actually, my homeboy's shop is handling the warranty through Koni for me...the shop owner ordered it about 3 weeks ago and the strut just hasn't come in yet...i don't know why it's taking so long...
i talked to one of the Koni reps early this month and they said they can send out a replacement strut first and then you just send them back the broken strut after you install the replacement...and they'll inspect it for warranty or whatever...that way there's no down-time...
he said you had to leave a credit card number and all your info with them first before they send out the replacement strut...(just in case it's not covered under warranty and they'll deduct the cost of the strut out of your credit card)
hope this helps you out....late
PS: what i'm thinking, the reason why they haven't sent out a replacement strut for me is because they know of this problem and are trying to fix it....that's Just my opinion though...
