***Big changes Coming Around Here - Need Your Input...***
Okay as of late I've seen a decline in posting from a lot of the "regualr" guys here, and I've also seen more and more repeat topics too.
I think the two are related, and I'd like to change both of these things.
Here's what I'm hoping to do:
I want to create one central thread with a shitload of tech archives. I'd like to break it down like this:
1992-1995 Civic trims level differences, colors, weights, etc.
Same for Del Sol
Same for 1996-2000 Civic
Various engine swap specs, GENERAL 1/4 miles times per car, motor, ec. Not the bible, but plenty enough to dispell the every day "motor X vs. motor Y" threads that get on my damn nerves so bad. Pricing will be incluede, with various links to reputable sellers.
I really want a GOOD H22A swap tec section too - those of yu who have done this swap please speak up NOW.
Brake swap tech for 1992-1995 Civic and 1996-2000 Civic.
This tech thread would be stickied and linked from the updated rules/guidelines thread that I'm going to update soon.
Also I'd like to try a few more stickies:
1. Post pics of your hatchback
2. Post pics of your Del Sol
3. Post pics of your Coupe
4. Post pics of your 4-door.
I'd love to break it down from 1992-1995 and 1996-2000, but that's too many stickies.
So basically I'm looking to you all right now to post up any info, links, etc. that will make this proces easier. I don't want you all to do all of my hard work for me, but if you have good info/links by all means help all of us out and post them here.
Basically if you have any pertinent info on those really redundant topics please post it here.
Wat do you all think? I'm trying to embrace the "community" sense here by allowing some model-specific picture threads, but at the same time clear out some of the clutter with redundant picture posts.
Any input is welcome.

Tom- I think this will be great for the EG Del Sol Forum, I'm pumped for the changes.

I flame the occasional newbie and that`s about it. Everything has been too cosmetic lately, or the "what`s the best?" brand of thread. Doesn`t anybody build their motor anymore?
Why don't we have an off topic area where all posts like "Look what UPS brought..." and various non tech pics and videos can go?
sounds like a good idea, as long as it's not all in one thread. that would be ridiculously confusing. keep the # of stickies low and it should be alright.
OK, when I do my H22 swap, as I said in another one of my posts, I will be doing a full write up with pics and everything. It will be detailed right down to what size bolts go where. Hopefully you guys can wait about three months for that. It might be sooner but I'm not sure exactly.
Very good ideas Tom. I've stopped posting alot because alot of the topics are repeats the can easily be answered with a seach or the threads are just crap. I think there should be a Members Gallery disected into defferent models for the entire board.
Best of luck with your ideas. Hope some of them come to life.

It sounds like a great idea to me. It will be a great resource if we could compile a lot of ACCURATE tech data for the given categories. I have a few links for 6th gen tech that I will get together and post here.
Great thinking Tom
I like the pics, and H22 one...
yea, lately there has been a lot of "Which is hottest" or "What is this worth" topics...
I hope these changes will clean up the board a little bit...

i think the forum is fine the way it is.
yeah there are useless posts, but it's not like you can't skip over them.
people post up pix of some work they've been doing on their cars. they should be able to.
it's a forum. people are suppose to post.
have an archive section with all the common swap info in there. and have that one link stickied. and directly any post related to that stuff to that link, and lock the post.
i don't really understand the whole reasoning for this post, but at the same time. i don't mind it either way. so it's whatever.

I agree with everyone else, its a really good idea.
I've collected quite a number of tech procedures and installs from websites to give to some of my friends here at school who are interested in starting out. Let me know if you would like me to post the list, although im sure alot of you guys know of them already.

There are some decent ideas listed below, but I don't necessarily agree with a majority of them.
I want to create one central thread with a shitload of tech archives. I'd like to break it down like this
Definitely a good idea, almost like a one stop for most topics that are brought up. But I am sure it would get annoying attempting to look through the broken section of the information cause if you have four and five stickies at the beginning of the forum I believe it is going to look a bit cluttered. If you are going to make separate sections for technical information in one post I suggest sending specific information to some of the members to post up, this way a person knows what section they are actually viewing instead of having to filter through something that have no interest in.
Don't see a problem in this idea the least bit. It would do well at the top of the forum.
This is still up in the air ...until I have a real response to follow it.
EDIT: it would go well along with the trims level differences, colors, weights, etc
Why not try collectively speaking with the moderator of the "Hybrid" forum and find out if he will allow this type of post to exist within that specific forum because essentially that is where it should be. It's hard to classify what is proper content for each particular forum.
Good idea in the main thread if this goes through, like earlier I just suggest assigning or searching out specific people to do separate sections. You could compile the information into one, then send it to them and all them to post the information up. That way you have no discrepency about the content.
Also I'd like to try a few more stickies:
1. Post pics of your hatchback
2. Post pics of your Del Sol
3. Post pics of your Coupe
4. Post pics of your 4-door.
I'd love to break it down from 1992-1995 and 1996-2000, but that's too many stickies.
You said it! On count that is about 6-7 stickies from beginning to this point, quite a good number which I am sure you realized. The post pics of your car seems like a subpar idea, especially in regard of those who have 56k because either it will never load or it's going to be impossible just to view a few pictures. I think the posting of members cars should either be allowed or moved to appearance because a centralized post may make it unbearable even for the cable/dsl people (some of you like to post a lot of pictures when showing your car). There will always be that question of what does this look like on this particular car. Then comes the question of whether it is even valid to the EG+Civic/Del Sol forum
This makes light of the question does every picture in a post need to be quoted and attached to 8 different replies within the same post. I will admit I do this sometimes, but there isn't a need to post the same picture so many times to comment about it.
I think if done without confusion everything should go along smoothly

I know what you mean by "regulars not posting anymore."
99% of the time that I post something, nobody knows the answer, or nobody smart enough reads it, so i've been MIA for like a month or more.

Tom,
I have PMed you with the same info, but just FYI to all other HT members.
I will be getting a 92 VX and building an H22 92 VX from ground up.
In doing this I will be transfering my current H22A swap into the hatch, and will write up a full H22A swap with pictures, options, and parts to purchase while doing this so in the future, those who post "How do I do an h22a swap?" can be flamed by vtecvoodoo
As many people know, I do have h22a wiring diagrams that HT members can print off while they do the swap. They have wiring diagrams, parts to purchase, and what to do while doing it and such.
I will mainly be posting up in the Hybrid forum since I am in there most of the time, but I will also post up the thread in this forum so those who don't know how to search mainly -- it'll come up regardless.
Just FYI.

I really think thats a great idea. Or mayeb you could make a seperate page for all of this instead of making it a thread? Just a thought.
