turbo tacoma 4 cyl.
i have been searching all night for some info on how hard it would be to turbo a 4 cylinder, 2 wheel drive tacoma. i can make the manifold, piping, etc.. i just cant find anything on the ignition/fuel/and what the drivetrain can handle... if anyone knows of any sites or anything that could help me out... please tell me... sorry if this is too off topic for this forum!
awesome, i want to do it right the first time, im gonna probably have a local engine builder (Moffit and Bratten if you guys have heard of them) sleeve/balance/p&p etc... i want 350 hp + in the end... but who knows what will happen

Chris Rado's Celica runs the 2.7 toyota tacoma 4 cylinder and develops 1000hp or so...The 2.4 tacoma motor is just a smaller displacement version. Alot of power poetential there(as there is with most DOHC engines)
If your goal is 350hp, just swap in some forged pistons and leave everthing else stock...it will be up to the task of "only" 350hp. Put in a standalone(Haltech, AEM, SDS etc) and some larger injectors and a high output fuel pump(walbro or supra twin turbo) a good t3/t4 turbo and an intercooler and 350 will be easy...in fact, witht that large displacement, it will go over 350 with ease, even with completely stock head and cams...

Hey SuperT,
What about a Nissan Frontier non-super?
Who can I talk to about Turbo on that. Specifically, fuel control and such.
IM me if this is too offtopic.
Thanks,
Randy

That was the old 4 cylinderm that ran a 11.3 @ 123mph...I have a 2jzgte in there now, making 700hp and running 10's, soon to be 9's if this damn snow will go away!

plenty of turbo tacomas. many of them run 13 or so psi. with a FMU and a fuel pump. and that's with the 2.4 ltr. btw what motor do you have ?
