need help from those who have installed aftermarket power door locks in a civic
I am in th eprocess of installing aftermarket power door lock solenoids in my '95 civic. All of the wiring has been run, but I need to mount the solenoids and there seems to be no place to put them that they aren't obstructed by the door panel or window mechanism. Where in the hell cna I put these things so they will work properly? Please, any help is appreciated.TIA
If you can mount the actuator at all you can usually sneak the actuator rod through somewhere. You'd be surprised. Also you can wire the actuator in reverse so it pulls the rod to unlock, that way your actuator faces the opposite way actually.
The part I hate most is running the wires out to the doors.

so true...running the wires is usually the hardest part of accuator install. goodthing is eventhough it seems difficult....the hardest part is over
goodluck on the rest of the install.
goodluck on the rest of the install.
i put mine on about a 45 degree angle around where the back of the arm rests are on the door panels...i had ok clearance...i just had to bend the rods that run to the locks....its been working fine with no problems yet.
just take the actuators and place right above the rods that connect to the locks on the inside. Place the about 3' above the rods, but on the inside of the door. Then you want to take the included rod, and bend them accordingly and connect them to the factory rods. Ill have pics soon or later here
