99 Civic Si
hey everyone, i have a dumb question here. My cousin say's his 99 Si is rated at 168 hp. Is he wrong? I told him he is and that it's rated at 160. And that the JDM b16a is rated at 168. He's also been drinking so he might not be thinking straight. I just need someone on here to respond with the correct answer. All flames accepted with open arms.
yeah there is difference in cams, tuning, and emmissions from the Japan model, which produces more power. Higher compression i think it does, but i am not positive on it.
slighty higher Compression 10.6 I believe for the b16a 92-00 in japan ..and the US recieved the B16A2 and the B16A3 with 10.4 compression ratio, both produced 143whp roughly 160@ the flywheel....I might be off on the CRs because it's late and I don't care

It would have been easier to just search through some of these companies that sell engine swaps, normally they have the base horsepower listed along with the engine information. It would have kept you from knocking him out and would have allowed you to view the information with your own eyes, maybe even obtained more information then you were looking for. Not to state the information is incorrect here but yeah...
Your cousin is a tool for not knowing hp specs for his car.
The 1999-2000 Si/b16a2 is rated at 160hp to the flywheel. I believe the compression is 10.2 and the JDM b16 compression is 10.6 Tell him not to talk **** when he's drinking..
