Default Boost Spike Problem/Very Detailed

ok here is the problem. the wastegate that came with my turbo kit (drag gen 3) is the Turbonetics Deltagate Mark II Wastegate. It seems to have come with a 4psi spring. I say seems because when the boost controller (greddy profec B) is turned off, 4psi is where it boost to, or where it did limit boost before my little problem. I am running low boost at 7psi and high at 11psi on a B18C1. A while back i got stupid and started messing with the balance **** on the profec b thinking it would make the turbo "spool up faster" (I know now it was a stupid thought). Well since then there has been a boost spike problem. It happens like this. I get on the gas and hit the desired boost level, lets say low boost (7psi) and it stays there. But if I take my foot off the gas, (blowoff valve blows the boost out like it should), and then get back on the gas quickly, it spikes up a few psi and stays there. Example:
hit gas, boost to desired level, let of the gas, and hit gas again, results in 3 to 4 psi spike. This also happens now if I downshift and floor it. I thought it might be the boost controller so I turned it off. Same result. Where it should stay at 4psi with the boost controller off, it spikes to 6 or 7 depending on how much I do what is described above.
I wondered if this is all caused by me messing with that balance **** on the profec b, but like I said it does it with the profec b turned off too.

Any thoughts???

i would say that its your wastegate. you should also leave the balancer on the middle, shouldnt touch it unless you have boost spike. how do u have the switches set on the back of the profec? it should be set 4-top 3-bottom 2-bottom 1-top. but if you have boost creeps, then set it as 4-bottom 3-top 2-bottom 1-top. hope this helps, peace.

It could be your manifold. Ive heard a lot about Drag manifolds causing boost spike. My friend had a GSR swap in a civic with a drag gen 3 kit. His boost controller was turned alllllll the way down and he always hit 1 bar.

well with Drag manifold and Deltagate, you're pretty much have two parts that causes most of the spiking issues....

option one, get tial
option two, port the WG opening on the manifold, at least port match it if it's not already...if it is already port matched, get tial...

the WG hole on the manifold is usually the main culprit

If I decide to go with a tial wastgate what size should I get. I don't understand the difference in the sizes. 35mm 46mm and so on. What are these diameters for? And will a tial mount on to the opening on my drag manifold?

The size in mm is the size of the hole.

The 35mm Tial is a direct replacement for your deltagate.
