What is "boost spike"?

Default What is "boost spike"?

Well...what is it? What causes it? TIA!

The wastegate actuator not responding quick enough to rising boost levels, thus the boost spikes beyond your set point.

IE. WG is fully open at 8 psi, and you get a "spike" when you floor it, and the boost goes above your preset level.

thats when you're boost steadily creeps past where it is supposed to max at, as opposed to a quick spike...caused by a wastegate thats unable to release enough exhaust gas at a fast enough rate
