Default obd2 question

I did a b16a2 swap into my 97 civic si-g. I switched both harnesses so the swap was plug and play. I am now taking out my b16a2 to keep for a eg hybrid(it has 20k on it) and putting a d16y7 so i can sell my car. Now my question is if i use the d16y7 engine and engine harness will the harness behind my dash need to be changed back aswell??? i have been told a few things but i am doing my swap this weekend and would like to know if i have to switch that harness as well so i can get one. Also is there anyway to rewire the harness where it plugs into the ecu(color to color)??? so i dont have to pull thewhole dash out to changeit once again.
Thank you for your help

if the motor is 96, and your car is 97 you will have no problems. wiring didn't change until 99-00

where do i get one of those.. or do you mean the 96 dx harness.... also is it possible to take the connectors off the 96dx harness and match them color for color on my 00 b16a2 harness.... and just plug it in .. or does that mean i have to take the whole dash out again..
