Last summer i bought a 97 civic si-g coupe.. I then installed a b16a2engine and pulled the dash and put the 00 b16a2(obd2b) harness behind there so everything would be plug and play with the b16a2 ecu and engine harness. I now pulled the b16 and put a 96 d16y7 engine back into the car.(i put it instead of the d16y8 because i got an awesome price from my cousin and i know its been treated well)... i dont want to have to pull the dash again to put the 96 dx harness back in.. so i was wondering since the harness behind the dash is 99-00 .. if i get a 99-00 obd2.5 d16y7 engine harness and 99-00d16y7 ecu will everything plug up ??? is there any other way of doing this... i have a 96dx ecu but if i have to buy a 99-00 ecu ill do it .

 

Why are you removing the dash when changing the harness anyway????

 

bacause my car is originally a 97si-g... which is obd2a.... and i put a 99-00sir harness in there for my other swap ... i pulled the dash and did it the hard way .. ...and now i want to put a 96dx engine in there.. which has the obd2a ecu and engine harness which wont plug up to the obd2b 99-00 harness..so i am wondering how i can wire up the 96engine without having to pull tha dash and use the 99-00 harnes... which ecu and engine harness do i use??
