Default POSTIVE camber and BAD caster.

Ok got back from alignement yesterday to find out that my camber and castor is WAY OFF IN THE FRONT! toe in the front and rear are great, even the camber in the rear is great.

I have POSITIVE +2.03 on the driver side and POSITIVE +1.83 on passenger side!!! wtf?

I just replaced with new.. L&R tie rod-ends, L&R upper control arms, and front Xmember(the one that holds lower control arms).

Does anyones 88-91 honda do this? I never had this problem with my old hatch. This all happened after i swapped out my d16y8 for my old d16a6 again. BEFORE i swapped anything the car was fine with worn everything in the front then once i touch things it got unsettled then i replaced all the bad **** and its still F'd up. whats up tell me.

i have **** tire wear on the outside. i can go through tires in 1-2 weeks lucky for me i have a $5 used tire area. its like a gas expense

i'm not sure if you know this but everytime you mess with anything on your suspension you should get an alignment and have them correct it. I don't know if you put the Upper control arms, tie rod ends and crossmember on at the same time but if you didn't everytime you change/add a new part you need to get an alignment. Do you have a camber kit on the car? how much are you lowered? i don't think it has anything to do with the fact that you took out the y8 for an a6. but i would go get an alignment and have everything set up correctly. I dont want to sound like a dick but THIS IS ALL AFTER getting alignment done as previously stated in FIRST post.. 2nd post has the info about stock EVERYTHING for suspension, no aftermarket stuff. just had to clear that up.

Alignment was done YESTERDAY Feb.26, 2003 parts were put on over THIS weekend the place didnt find anything wrong with any of my suspension, they checked twice.

again sorry if this reply is dickish thx

p.s. the car has the lifetime alignment package for as long as i own the car, and whatver is changed or lowered its covered.

sounds like you have the wrong UCAs. the UCAs have the most effect on camber, so I'd look to those for your problem.

That is weird. The upper control arms would control the front camber, so I'm thinking something went wrong with the new upper arms. Maybe they are for a diff. model Honda? LOL your front wheels probably look like that of a Ford Tempo.

sorry guys but they're the right ones, also this was after the ENGINE swap it was like this.. then i swapped all the bad **** THIS past weekend for new stuff after a month or so. so the alignemnt was F'd up before the new front suspension stuff was put on.

ALL 88-91 CRX/CIVIC UPPER control arms are the same.. i did a part# exchange before i even got them.

what cross member did you put in? maybe its a hair smaller which is pulling "in" the LCAs which is giving you positive camber?

the more i think about it, the more i think the xmember might be the source of the problem...

are all CRX LCA size the same?? and what about CRX Xmembers are they all the same? so how would i correct this, if i lowered the car could this damage anything IF it has a slightly shorter Xmember? Or lowering it then aligning it fix this?

do you still have your old xmember? if so, jack up the car and see if the one you installed is the same size as the one you took off.

all LCAs should be the same size. i am just wondering if you got a wrong size xmember. where did you get the xmember from? what year and model was it supposedly?

before i go out and jack my car up in this shitty cold weather. I would like to know if lowering my car 2-3" will make this POSITIVE camber go away.

i thought all 90-91 civic/crx xmembers were the same.

Maybe you have the upper control arms on the wrong sides. If you swap them by accident you change the caster dramatically for the worse. It's very easy to put these on the wrong side of the car and not know it.
