Has any one heard anything about the crower cams for the SOHC Vtec engines. are they good. and what type valve springs and retainers should i get?

 

i heard the crower cam is a little more agressive then the zexs cam, i liked my zexs cam.

 

It depends on which cam you decide to get.

If you pick a more aggressive cam then you need new springs.
Suggest the crower kit. Although it costs more than the cam, the cost of a rebuild is not worth the risk of a dropped valve.

 

From what i've experienced the zex cam is one of the best for SOHC.. But i don't know about the crower as i've never used it.

I have seen the Crower springs and Ti retainers for $277 @ optauto.com. Im buying those and sticking them with either the exospeed (along with the head package) or Zex stage 2.

I just bought a cam gear and im buying a cam this weekend for my SOHC . Should i go with zex and do i have to buy new valve springs!!!!sorry for stealing your post bro!!!

 

Stock D16Z6 with Iceman intake

besides the cam, almost everything is STOCK. Stock intake, stock exhaust with a test pipe, and a slightly larger throttle body. Thats IT.

Im quite happy with my stage 2 crower cam. Cept I did way too much to the head to say it was ALL the cam. I went from 135.5wtq to 150wtq. PnP head, Crower Stage 2 boost cam, .5mm oversized valves, head shaved .005, Ti retainers and their springs. - Non tuned. stock vtec engagment point.

 

Yo i'm not the one that sent a head befor the money was sent. Its could common sense You get the money you send the head not you send the head with out the money.
