Default CAM Questions???

I want to change my cam on my 1998 honda civic ex sedan. I wanted to know if i change a cam is it just a drop in or do you need to up grade pistons, springs, or other thing?

depends on the cam you get. if you get a mild cam, the stock valve train would be able to resist the new cam lift/duration.

there is the zex cam, ef-1 sohc cam (visit ef-1.com) and the gude bullfrog cam for the SOHC VTEC.

To add to what poison said and help with the answer a little.

No, you will not have to change out anything in the lower block. pistons, rings, rods, bearings are all fine.

Now, the valvetrain (valve springs, retainers and other stuff in the head) may have to be upgraded.
