Default Turbo guys help...

OK well I'm realizing that the all motor route is expensive for the gains....runnning 200whp + but I want more........naturally. So what I need to know is what do I need for a good turbo setup running about 8 - 10psi for the street and up to 20 for the track?

Turbo
Manifold
Intercooler
Blow off valve
Hondata or AEM EMS (I wouldn't do anything else)
Piping
3"Exhaust
Boost Controller?
Injectors

Anything I did not list plz tell me...I am going to build my bottom end...I w/ iron sleeves, forged pistons (any recomendations?) and I have eagle rods already.
Also what size intercooler would fit? what kinda parts would u recommend? and what kind turbo and why....? don't know much about turbo tech but I've seen great dyno plots w/ setups running big t4's. Plz give me good advice on a custom setup. Thx guys

Don't know what you have in mind about compression but I would suggest that you don't go too low. The lower the compression the more lag you'll have. I'm running 9psi on my turbonetics T3/T4 with stock compression (10:1) and it has great bottom end speed, barely any lag. I would also look into some injectors (440cc or higher?).

If you're building the bottom end, make sure that your turbo setup doesn't limit your power output I'd suggest a big FMIC, injectors in the 700+ cc range, and a 60-1 with an .82 ar on the hotside.......

What size intercooler will fit on a fourth gen w/ stock bumper? What company should I buy the turbocharger from? Turbonetics, Garrett?

You can fit a 24 x 8 x 3.5 inch spearco core intercooler (or something else with those dimensions) without making any major modifications, just cutting the bumper and trimming a very tiny amount off the front bumper support......if you go any taller you have to get rid of your support, and if you go wider you have to cut a TON out of the front bumper......I can get custom intercoolers made to fit preludes with these specs (I run one on my setup) but they're $700 plus shipping, which is a bit pricey in the whored out intercooler market......
Get a garrett turbo, there are a bunch of places that sell them for a good price, including my shop.....just PM me for a price......

Damn, how are you getting 311 hp @ 9psi untunned? That is damn good! I only pulled off 273 hp @ 11psi. What does your torque look like?

Torque is pretty flat, 246 was the top number.....once the turbo spools and hits 9lbs at like 3800, it's mostly flat all the way to redline......

http://www.solid-technology.com/brian_prelude.htm

That's all the info on the car......311 is the SAE corrected number, actual was 261.5 whp.....it's making more power now (not blowing out spark and got tuned), and will be making even more now that the 780's are in it and I won't be hitting 100% duty....

P.S. I should have some timeslips if all goes well this weekend, I'll put up a thread about it with vids and scans once I have them.....

Drag gen 2 Manifold h23a $300 used for 2 months

Turbonetics t04e ball bearing turbo 50compressor trim, .48 t3 turbine housing $750 keep in mind this is BALL BEARING, i paid $1150 for it new. 2000 miles on turbo, no shaft play, in perfect condition. rated at 400whp.

Tial 35mm .45 bar wastegate $200 used for 2 months

Airtex inline fuel pump $70 used for 4 months

Missing Link Map sensor $50

Spearco Intercooler - Standard Drag size $250

If you buy the intercooler i acutally have one of the intercooler pipes you will need that come from the turbo that goes to the right side of the intercooler that i will sell you also.

I can also hook you up with the oil feed lines and fittings you will need for a very good price if you buy some things from me, all lines and fittings will be brand new and of top quality.

Everything is guaranteed to be in perfect working condition, add shipping to the above costs.
