To cut or not to cut
Should I cut my sprints springs (1 coil) or just leave them the way it is? The drop is still too high for me. Any of you who did cut their lowering springs before?
do not cut,..i repeat do not cut,..save some money and get a better suspension,...you will do more harm then good if you cut your springs

I dont know why these guys are so against cut springs.
They arnt the best for performance but if you cut them
properly and all of them are even it will be fine. Have
any of you messed anything up from using cut springs?
I want to know your stories and not some guy you heard
about.

on my old 88 Accord, i was using H&R Sport springs with 2 coils cut off the fronts and 1.5 coils cut off the rear. rode on stock shocks, too.
Anyway, the ride was not bouncy or stiff, and i didn't bottom out over every little bump. Maybe i got lucky? obviously, though, the handling was nothing like it was with the uncut H&Rs, that's for sure. the front end plowed considerably more.
that's my story on riding with aftermarket springs with cut coils. I wouldn't do it again, though. at the time, i was 16. I didn't know any better.

reducing the number of coil s of each spring will deminish its effectiveness..the total spring and rate is over the entire length of the coil..by cutting ur going to reduce the spring rate and possibily bottom out..not to mention the ride quality that an entire coil would give u
