skunk 2 stage 3's on the street?
Trending Topics
From what i have seen and heard from frineds running aftermarket valvetrain, people usually get the best results (and have less problems) if they stick the brand valvetrain that the cams are (Skunk2 3s with skunk valvetrain)
since im continplatining skunk2 stage 2, should i just get the 3s? how is the midrange on these cams? is the power band nice or is it like slow as ***** then bamb! insane power or is it a nice moderate gain?
i ask alot of questions !

from what i have researched today i have found that you have to have some serious flow through the head so i think i am gonna stick with the stage 2's and the skunk valvetrain. As far as the 2's do they scream when vtec hits?
yeah u need skunk springs (espicially on a first gen) the stage 1s can work with a stock vavle train, but y risk a motor, im doing the whole 9 yards, i wounder if i should also go skunk2 valves?
i have not problems running mine on the street.
I am running an all skunk2 head.
I would not run these if you are not running atleast 12.5:1 or plan on upgrading to the comprestion level in the near future.
I tried them running a very low comprestion and lost 10 foot pounds and made 0 Hp. Compared to skunk2 stage 1's

so 12.0cr is not enough compression to run them, and will the ctr head flow enough
On a 1.8L or a 2.0L???

i am runnin a ls/vtec 1.8L just 20 over so i got a set of brand new stage 2's for $450, i will prolly just run those the way i have been hearing!!!
I dont understand why you will lose torque and power if you dont have high compression with cams.

You have to enter alot of info, but the results can be astounding. Just a degree or 2 increase in your intake cam's ABDC can drop your dynamic compression dramatically. This and cost is precisely why I went with Crower 63403 cams w/ an ABDC of 46. For reference I believe CTRs are 45 and skunk2 stg2s are 49. This will cost you low end power unless your run a high compression.
