Default Automatic Transmission Shift Point Problem...

Hi,

My girlfriend just received an older Honda from her parents that hadn’t been driven in a while and I have noticed some issues with the automatic 3 speed transmission in it. The shift points seem to be at around 17mph for 1-2nd and 45-50mph for 2nd-3rd…The 1-2nd seems normal but the 2nd-3rd seems way too high…I don’t recall it ever doing that before they had the engine rebuilt recently…Is there any fix for this and what could cause this in your opinion?

Thanks a lot if you have any advice for us…

Cheers,
DJ

I didnt know they even had a 3 speed auto... but when i had an auto (flooring it) 1st-2nd ~30mph / 2nd-3rd ~60mph / 3rd-4th ~90mph (not exactly sure about that one)

Yeah but this isnt flooring it...Just standard mellow acceleration...Even under extreme light accelleration it shifts at like 50mph into 3rd...Way too high...RPMs are around 4000
