Default Integra 96 Gsr question

I just purchased a 96 Integra Gsr with 89k miles on it. The car is in great condition. I am wondering what type of maintence I should do to the car. Change fuel filter ? Timing Belt ? etc.... I am also wondering if I decide to modify my gsr where should I start ?

since you have 89k you might as well get all the belts replaced. Thats including the timing and water pump. Braking your water pump is like breaking the timing belt. DO BOTH!

for mods just do a search. If you just want to hear vtec louder and make cool engine noises get your self a cold air intake or short ram. When you have decided, check out the classified you'll find good deals here and there. good luck

Definatly get the timing belt and waterpump replaced. A broken timing belt can lead to serious internal damage to your engine. Recommeded replacement is at 90K. Other things maintenace items that may need attention are: fuel filter, valve adjustment, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor.

As far as mods go, the main rule is "Do what you want because it's your car". The usual route people take is to an air intake and upgrade the exhaust system with better flowing header, cat, and cat back.

If your thirsting for more info...first try a search and if you don't find the answer there, feel free to post your question. Hondatech members are always good about giving their opinions and input. HTH

Edit Spelling ownz me!

Good advice so far. Get that timing belt done even though its expensive (and water pump). If you dont know when all the other fluids were flushed they are not a bad thing to do either. Bleeding your breaks... etc... Just basic matience stuff so that you know when it was last done. For mods.... not some more info... what are you goals? Go or show? What is your power goal etc... do a lot of searching and reading before you start buying stuff though. Figure out a game plan so you dont have to buy things more than once.

belts, fuel filter, pcv valve, engine flush if there is any sludge, tranny fluid, throttle body cleaning, fuel injector cleaner, bleed clutch and brake fluid if they are not clear in color.
