It all depends on your spending budget! If you choose to go with the greddy kit (which is fine), save more money and go with the SMC+ instead of the vafc hack. If you can afford the apex or edelbrock kit, get a hondata!
What's your reasoning behind this comment "If you can afford the apex or edelbrock kit, get a hondata!"?
Honestly, the SMC, AFC, etc are good for temporary solutions but they are not by any means a good way to tune your engine forever.
Hondata or other standalone is really the only way to go with any turbocharged Honda.
The prices should all be pretty close on the kits, maybe the Edelbrock will be a good bit more, but even the Greddy is going to cost over 3k with IC, right?
The Edelbrock also comes with 4 extra injectors and some type of mechanism to control them, so if you get Hondata, you're ending up with extra stuff you don't need.

Well my reason for the greddy kit... budget... The Apexi is a great kit and I would like it. But it cost 3gs, and The price on the edelbrock kit keeps changing... 3500 to 5! The edelbrock kit looks to be the best one yet, but again budget... I can't do anything until spring anyway so I still have alot of time to work my *** off and get the cash flow back to normal... I'm shooting for the apexi and edelbrock because of the BB turbo, and just more power in the end... not to mention if i wanna go for higher boost later on. But thanks for the comments.... oh yeah one more thing... you have to convert your ecu when you get hondata dont you? OBD2 to OBD1 right?

Yes, you're right on the Hondata you have to get a conversion harness, from $100-$250 depending on what deals you can find. I just looked and I didn't realize they were this "cheap" but I guess a new Greddy w/small IC can be had for about $2300 or so.
Keep in mind that for that amount, or even less, you could go with a custom T3 setup w/internal WG and make more power than any of those kits are going to give you.

Yeah, I'm new the FI scene so when I was told about a custom kit being less than a name brand kit I looked around, but It always came out to being alot more money that a kit... Maybe im just not looking in the right places. if ya could help my stupid *** out I would appreciate it. And isnt a BOV better than an internal waste?
BOV and wastegate are different. The BOV releases pressure in your charge pipes when you shift, the wasgate, whether external or internal regulate boost by opening a valve (the wastegate is the valve) to release excess pressure from your exhaust BEFORE the turbo and routing it back into the exhaust AFTER the turbo or just to the open atmosphere.
I believe all the kits mentioned here use in internal wastegate, and they are fine at lower boost levels.
Here's an idea on pricing:
Maxrev manifold $350
Downpipe...maxrev is pricey because it's stainless but figure about $250 for custom.
Rebuilt T3 w/internal wg $300
BOV of your choice...they start at around $100 unless you want a Bosch or DSM
Intercooler $350-$400, you could even use the Greddy which would be about $500
Piping from JC Whitney $60
Silicone and clamps $80-100
SMC- not sure on price, maybe $100
DSM 450 injectors - $50-75
Air filter $40 K&N from Autozone
All this comes to under $1900. You can find deals for most parts here, groupbuycenter.com and ebay.
If you want an external wastegate, add $210 for a Tial. Remember that if you get a manifold that has a wastegate flange and you use an internal flange that you'll need to get a plate to block off the external flange.

BTW, in the interest of saving cash (i'm all about that!), I'd just go with the Y8 intake manifold. The other manifolds won't deliver any sort of bang for the buck. Cranking up the boost just 1 psi will deliver more power than those other manifolds at the power levels we're talking.
