Default Bastard dealerships

This is long cliff notes at bottom...
I was driving my 98 gsr on thurs and the CE light came on, I went home and jumped the ecu, it gave me the code for the vtec pressure switch I did everything from the helms, restart ecu, check wires/connections, but couldnt find the problem. Then my dad he would pay for a shop to fix it (WHA?!?!?!) ok then thanks. So I took it to a shop my friend recommended and they were busy till monday so my dad offers for a dealership to fix it (WHA WHA WHAT?!?!!) ok so I took it there. Later that day they call me and tell me my oil pan is dented (that would make sense why vtec wouldnt work, low oil pressure reading) so my dad says fix it ($366 just for the pan....ug) so I was supposed to get it on saterday and they call me and say they put the new pan in and still the same problem, so they said the vtec pressure switch wasnt working and have to replace it, when I gave them the car I told them thats what they should check, but hey what do I know? So they didnt have one in stock and had to order one and I might get my car back on wedsday and the part is only 50 bucks I guess its good to get the oil pan fixed but I problebly could have dented it out myself...oh well for some reason my dad's paying for it, and if you knew my family you would think this was a sign of the apocalipse.

CN:CE light came on, ecu says vtec pressure switch, cant find problem, take it to dealer, they say oil pan dented, replaced, then say thats not the problem and have to replace vtec pressure switch

so refuse to pay for the pan- they goofed. Tell them to put the old pan on and just pay for the right part. Then do the pan yourself.

People make mistakes when diagnosing things- allow that. But don't settle for them telling you you NEED the pan to make the car work because that is not true.

Cliff notes: people screw up, allow it.

Can't you tell them that you're not gonna pay for the oil pan because they told you to fix something that wasn't broken and them have them put the old one back on? I hate shady dealerships. I've had my own damn problems with them.

Cliff Notes Version - Could not engage gears in certain rpm range, took it to Stevens Creek Acura Dealership, said I blew my tranny and that it'll cost $3400 to fix, got a second opinion at a recommended shop and they told me that only my clutch was bad so I had them replace it for $300, my car was running perfect after that. Stevens Creek Acura Dealership =

BTW, if you're located in Oakland, I would recommend calling Honda/Acura Motorsports off of Whipple Ave near Union City. They are the best when it comes to our cars!!! Rates are awesome and the work is top of the line!!!

Code 22 huh --- Well, are you running a VAFC? Have you checked your oil level? A couple people have fixed this problem simply by checking the oil, noticing its low, and filling it up. But first, as I asked, do you have a VAFC?
