*******HELP PLEASE*******
I was driving along, and my car seemed to bog down alot under 2000 rpm under acceleration. so i kept it above 3 or so for a while trying to keep the RPMs up hoping whatever stupid thing it was would pass, btu it didnt. It died. and i cant get it started again. could it be somethign stupid like a ground, or something to that effect? please give me any suggestions. and please dont just assume that a ground or something is the problem right away. thanks in advance

sounds like something that happened to my ex-gf's car. her problem was the ignitor module in the distributor died, and i heard hondas are notorious for this. take one out of a friend's itr dist and test it on yours. does your car crank but sounds like its not igniting? test for spark from the spark plug wires. if no spark, thats probably what it is.
any codes?
edit\\\ yeah, probably ignition related...check the mechanical aspect first (test for spark)

will it turn over when you turn the key or is it dead? if its not i would start with the distrubuter. if it does check the fuel lines next, especially if you are not smelling a gas smell after a few turns. other than that i am at a loss. no engine codes?

NEED MORE INFO (i.e. Car, year, milage, trim, etc)
happened on my buddies 94 gsr w/ 150K- distributor went and the car died on the freeway. Check for spark and at all 4 plugs. Also check CEL codes.

i didnt check all 4 cylinders, but i check #1 and i get hella spark. when i pull the plug out, i smell fuel. it does crank, the starter is working correctly.

when my friends ignitor died and left him stranded thats what happened.. the car started to bog then it just shut off and wouldn't start back up... he had to get it towed...
MY Gf's car use to do this . her car would bog down then shut off. we would always be able to get it started again after awhile. It turns out it was loose wires on the distributor. They didnt seem that loose but i crimped them on harder and it hasnt shut off since.
ok, i try crankin it again, and it didnt go. so just for ***** and giggle, i looked at the ECU, and the thng is blinkin 3. MAP sensor? why would that make it go crazy?
what ev.
its not any of that ****. i took the thing to autozone, ahd them test the ignitor, it wasnt that, the coil read fine resisitance, the coil is getting power, i tesed my wires, they are fine, i bought new plugs, they are fine. the cap is good, teh rotor seems good? wtf else could be bad?

Sounds like it might be fuel related. Did you run out? LOL, sorry. Check your fuel pressure. Also, our cars' fuel pressure main relay is prone to **** ups, I had to replace mine; it wouldn't start or be really hard to start when it was warm outside. Maybe it just died on you.
no i get pelnty of fuel, i thought it was a fuel issue too, but its not. i went to autozone last night, and they tested the complete distro setup, but they all came back good. actually, my ignitor worked better than a BN one for some reason. unless the test machine was fuxored. the coil read 12 ohms in an acceptable range of 8-14. the ignitor seemed to fail the "feild test" but so did the new one. so im not sure if it was the machine, the operator, or whatnot, but i should have just brought all that **** home anyway. i bought some new denso's and some other lil stuff, i know my wires are good, so wtf. the coil is getting power, the catch coil is working fine. wtf can be wrong.
If you got a map sensor code, then its probably the map sensor.
Do you have a helms manual? It goes over how to test the map sensor directly.
