do you think I can run this much boost?

I am getting ready to have some work done to my car and wondered if anyone thought I could get away with 17 psi on pump gas.
My set up will be:
B18C1 engine
port and polished head
.5mm valves upgraded
stock valve springs and retainers
stock cams
darten sleeved block
je pistons 9:1 compression
oliver rods
stock crank
310cc injectors
V-AFC
drag turbo kit gen 3
stock fuel lines and intank fuel pump
stock fuel rail
If I can get away with it I will be happy but if not all well I will just upgrade some of the fuel system. Don't have the money for stand alone quite yet.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

go there and play with the calculator and see what size injectors you need cause 310s aint gonna cut it...

youre going to need a stand alone fuel managment system to be running that high boost. so sell your Vafc and get a hondata or AEM EMS. hondata will be cheaper so i would recomend that. you wont be able to tune your a/f well enough to run that high. usually on honda engines you can go 10 psi with proper tunning w/out stand alone and stock internals, and up to 14 psi w/a stand alone, and stock internals. after that its stand alone, and new bottom end. thats coming from a honda/acura/nissan engineer who does this for a living. hope this helps.
agreed, get rid of the AFC and the 310s because they are definantly not gonna cut it. Get some engine management and by looking at your list of hardware you can run 17 psi no problem.
you are lacking the #1 component to your set up. Management!!! you can build it bulletproof and if you dont have mgmt you will destroy it. with what you have spent already have some patience and run it at 7psi and then get hondata and injectors and run 17psi. then build the head and run 20+psi.

Thanks for the advice. On the fuel managment alot of people around here in the louisville ky area run autronic. Heard of it? On the hondata who much does that normally run $ and what size injectors do you all recomend? And can you upgrade the stock fuel lines to a bigger size with the stock fuel tank?
the hondata price depends on where you buy it. you might even be able to buy used from someone else. just erase data and program it at the shop. the injectors are tricky you want to make sure you arent maxing them out or placing them on 100% duty cycle. last time someone was running that high, i hear they were higher than 650cc and most likely around the 800 mark. just depends. you need to contact RC engineering and maybe they can help you out.

For your application I recommend some sort of fuel management (eg. Hondata, dfi, autronic etc) and some 720cc injectors.
You're pushing it with 17psi on pump gas.

Did anyone say Fuel pump yet? Get yourself a higher volume fuel pump to back up those larger injectors and also a fpr with guage if you don't already have one.
it seems as though a lot of people like the SX, Aeromotive fpr's. I think that they are made by the same company. Paxson(spelling) seems to be another top contender.
I would just do a search again to get some more opinions. I personally am gonna run either a SX with a liquid filled fuel guage.

Did you have a 500 hp motor built, before you thought about management?
(just realized that it's "going to be" done my bad.
)
I'm sorry to rag on your setup but that's just the first thing that came to mind when I read your post.
you seem to be only concerned with fuel, have you thought about how your gonna retard your timing under boost?
anyhow 17psi is pushing the limits of pump gas so whatever you decide to do be careful before you make an expensive mistake.
good luck.
ohh BTW... what size motor after sleeving?

Im just going to keep the stock piston size and stroke for now. This rebuild was more bottom end than it was head work, when I'm done having fun with this set up I should have enough money saved to where I will go all out. I guess I should have mention about the timing, I ordered a msd ignition control with the boost retard ****. I had a feeling I would be pushing the limits for 17psi on pump gas, but I suppose it was wishful thinking.

if youre looking for a management bandaid I suggest
450's (dsm)
AFC hack
& MSD.
take good care of this stuff, so you can sell it later, cuz if you really want to step up your gonna want some sort of stand alone (hondata for me).

I have heard many people talk about 450 dsm injectors and the afc hack. Does the injectors just plug right in or do you have to do something to make it work? The afc hack, what settings do you have to make to have the afc hack work?
