F22b1 home made turbo.... and SMC need some input
Hey all, I'm working on a junkyard turbo for my accord and am looking for some input on it. I'm trying to figure out what to use for fuel manegment. I was considering getting the SMC (price is deffinetly right) instead of using an FMU, but i was curious (this may sound stupid) I only want to run around 5-6 psi of boost, would it be possible to use the stock fuel pump and injuectors with the SMC and maintain reliability. The car i'm using is an 95 ex accord (f22b1 vtec engine)
Thanks for any input,
Thanks for any input,
for fuel try the SAFC hack along with some DSM 440cc injectors
this has been recommended but im still learning as well so

from what i got so far about the SMC, it can handle up around 10 psi of boost, the stock fuel pump can be used but you will need bigger injectors... 440's-550's. i'm still looking to boost my teg and so far, the SMC with some DSM injectors is the way i'm going.
The SMC+ will handle up to 14 psi! The reason you would want the smc+ is to use larger injectors. Your stock ones will work with an fmu up to about 6psi. The reason being your fuel pump. If you replace that you might be able to get 8psi. If you get an fmu and fuel pump you have already spent more then just getting an smc and dsm 450's and it will take car of the map code in the process. If you are planning on actually boosting a honda so it will beat other cars you need to boost more than 6 psi. Save you money and get the SMC+ from Zip.
And yes the smc does the exact same thing as the safc hack!

Thanks for the info, its a big help. I'll go beyound 6psi after i get outta college for now i just want to see if i can get a dsm manifold to fit
