Hmm... wastegate malfunctioning? dumping when it shouldn't?
Since my car has recently been turboed, everytime I walk away, I do a quick external inspection it to make sure everything still looks normal.
Well, this morning when the car was locked up and the turbo timer running down, I looked under the car and saw what looked like the wastegate dumptube expelling exhaust gas. I would have thought that while the car is idling or simply not under boost, the wastegate wouldn't be open. Could the wastegate be stuck open or something? On the other hand, is this normal behaviour?

you should be able to here it if it were stuck open.. it would be loud as hell all the time... I am guessing it was just smoking/letting out trapped gasses from when you were driving
Well, I certainly can't hear anything unusual. It sounds like the car is simply idling.
It also doesn't really look like the dumptube is just "smoking" the remainder gas left over from driving under boost. You know how you usually have a steady pulsating stream of gas exiting your muffler on cold days that is clearly visible? It looked the same as that, just pointing down instead.
