b16 w/gsr trans,better for boost?
That is harsh. IMO, he is trapping pretty good for that time.
ANYWAYS, to get back on topic, I have a turbo B16 with a GSR tranny. With my stockies, I am right in the sweet spot of fourth gear when I pass the 1/4 mile marker pulling hard. I couldn't imagine what it would be like with short gears of a B16 or longer gears of an LS. The GSR is a very valuable and strong tranny. GSR TRANNY

First figure out what your projected trap speed will be, then pick your tire or slick size, then figure out your redline so you can go through the traps without shifting into 5th.
Not to be cocky or anything, but does it matter. From the looks of your sig you cant drive anyways.
Sorry man.

GSR tranny would be better for boost than the b16 tranny. LS tranny would be even better for boost.
Shortest gearing always wins when it comes to acceleration.
For a street car the gs-r tranny works perfect. how do I know? because i'm runing one on my b16a.
A buddy of mine has the b16 tranny on his, and I like driving mine more, it feels better, to me at least, both cars pull hard under boost. He has to shift into 5th gear as where I can stay in 4th gear (runing the same size tires) before hitting the traps.
The ls tranny has long gearing, so you top speed is higher but it's slower in acceleration
B16 tranny has shortest gearing
and the gs-r is a perfect medium....
ive run faster in my 2800+ lbs Si with i/e, on stock rubber ,but thats not the point of this thread.
b16 would be the best...but as someone said, figure out your traps and go from there..if your looking for something that wont rev to high while cruising on the highway(Even though i reallly dont think the b16 tranny revs that high while cruising) then go with the gsr. stay away from the ls.

Here we go again though, haven't we argued this enough?
Give me an ls with lsd anyday the b16 works good the gsr is better but to have top end gears and a nice long 3rd to get you through the quarter is perfect.
ok just to clear that time up. thats my only run ever! but thanks for all the info.
NO.
But I give up. I'm going to quit talking about trannys altogether. This LS LETS YOU STAY IN BOOST LONGER idiocy is spreading like a disease.
I don't understand why people ask questions and then get pissed when they don't get the answer they think is right, or don't hear what they want to.
I guess if you want less tire spin (and a slower 1/4 time) use the LS tranny. If anybody has GSR or B16 trannys, I will start buying up LS trannys for straight trades.

...BUT isn't the LS tranny the best option for running boost (high boost) on an LS engine?

dont be dick. your 2.0 60ft is not anything to write home about either. i ran 2.5 60 ft in my car except i ran 12.4 @ 126 mph which means i cant drive either but i still would have beat you. also notice the kid ran a 2.2 60ft in a 15 second car. its harder to get a 2.0-2.1 in a slower car.
I ran the same setup in my Si (2500+ lbs) and my best was 14.6 @ 93.
But I see that was his only run. Maybe I was a bit harsh--sorry. Keep practicing, with that car and setup w/ a low 60 you should hit 14.3-4's.
Who says its hard to get 2.0 - 2.1 60's in a slower car? Ive ran them since I had my single cam with only i/e.
