getting a swap wondering what tranny to get
how's it going everyone,
well i'm finally getting a b16 gen1 obd1 and well my friend said i could get a b16hydraulic tranny or a gsr tranny.
i plan for boost but that will not be for a while so i'm curious if i should opt for the longer gsr gears or get the quicker itr-like b16 tranny???
if i choose the b16 how will it handle under boost??
and finally does this question even need to be asked and by this i mean does it even matter of the gsr gears are longer, because this is my daily driver and well i can only benefit from 4th and 5th gear when racing on the highway something I WILL NOT be doing, i mainly need a decent autocross setup with occasional weekend fun

gsr tranny is gonna be your best bet, longer gears than the b16, little bit better gas mileage too, though you will be at 4k at 80 mph. but it beats bein in vtec at highway speeds (haha im just kiddin b4 i get flamed)

If you have the money it would be worth it, you pick up better times this way, takes less hp to turn just one wheel. If not I'd put it in engine management and tunning and just stick with a gsr tranny.

not sayin it cant be done but from the information i have gathered on this site most people that plan to auto cross go all motor as to not have to deal with spooling, now as for weekend fun a turbo b16 with lsd would be a blast. and yes i know there are people that auto-x with boost just sayin what i have noticed
