Default P09 ecu????

I was doing some diagnostic work on my car today because it appears to be running very rich. I just got the car not even a week ago. Well, I happen to look at the ECU and it is a P09 it says. I cant find anything on this ecu. Does anyone know what it came off of? And is this why it might be running rich. The engine is a d15b8 as well. Thanks.

Whatever it is, it's probably a lot better than the PO5 found in other D15B8 CX's.

PO5, I think they intended it to be POS, but decided to make the S a 5.

I'm not 100% sure, but PO9 is from a DX -- which is why you are running rich.

P06 is the 92-95 DX ECU, I don't think there is such a thing as a P09. Is this just written on the case or is it on the actual serial number?

it is the actual serial number. It DOES not make any sense at all, and I cant figure out why it is there. I will take a pic of it when I get the chance, but right now Im at my girlfriends house.

LOL, well to me for not knowing the DX ECU

thanks for the correction.

and yes, please take a picture of the serial number or list the exact serial number it states on the ECU.

As for purchasing a P05 ECU, I'm damn sure someone will just give it to you and all you pay is shipping.

I would inquire in the Classifieds forum for that.

I've heard 3 things:

1) it came from a 92-95 CX - but that's supposed to be a P05
2) it came from a 92-95 LX - makes sense but why was it in my CX?
3) it's the same thing as a P28 - ?

I think it is an LX ECU. i've seen one in a stock LX before.

I think some of you CX guys find them because the former owners had a swap (for sure Brewer) and they scrambled to find an ECU before selling the car and a P09 was found.

I find it odd that Hondata and other ECU listings don't show this P09 ECU though.

???

In my case there was a P05 ECU in the trunk when I bought my car. IWE plugged that in and the engine did nothing but turn over. BAD ECU. So I doubt they did a swap. Also, my ECU has some junkyard numbers on it and the date on it is somewhere around 1993.

Nah.... just got 4 OBD-1 JDM Accord H22A auto swaps in from our container.... three came with P39 ECUs (one with an auto P13) and from the looks of it the P39 ECU has the exact same board & parts as the P13, just no knock sensor board so it doesn't look for knock (gotta reprogram the OE Spoon proggy to work w/out knock, then we're golden )
