Default Why does DX ECU work on B16A2?

I got a B16A2 Swap and they send me the wrong ECU so i have to use the DX ECU but it's still working except there is no VTEC and the rev is limit at 7200RPM. SO will it damage my engine if i just run it for a while till i recieve my B16A2 ECU.

the car will run fine, drive it all you want. just don't rev it much past 5000, thats where it gets to lean. but it will get you to work safely until you get your vtec ecu.

Better safe than sorry. Wait for your correct ECU. I think it will be worth it in the long run. Fuel maps are different, among other things.

it has nothing to do with being better in the long run. can you read? he simply asked if he can drive his b16 with the DX ecu until he gets his b16 ecu. he can, there is no problem with that, he is NOT running to lean below 5...its perfecly safe.

You'll be fine. Just take it easy on the car... keep that foot under control till you get that ECU

Yeah I know how to read, been reading since I was two and a half years old. Did he say when he was going to get his B16 ECU? No. He's testing out the redline which obviously can't be good for the engine if he doesn't have the right ECU. I'm talking long run as in if he's pushing his car now his plugs might go bad. He could be messing up his valves now. If he drives like a grandma then yeah he'll be fine. From what I read from his post he MAY be damaging his car NOW by playing around with a half-*** ECU which isn't even meant to go into his car. If it was a P28 ECU I wouldn't be trippin, but he is running a DX ECU for crying out loud. You say it's perfectly safe. I don't know about that.

And BTW, can YOU type with correct grammar?
