How do you replace a radius rod?
My dumbass friend smacked his Wagovan into a curb so he told me to take a look at it and I did and the only thing I see wrong is a big crack in the radius rod. The wheel is pushed back towards the door. Everything else including axel looked fine. I looked up the radius rod on hondaautomotiveparts.com and it looks like it just unbolts at the LCA (I knew that) and then another part just has one nut on the end, does it go into the crossmember? What do I have to do/take apart to replace this and hopefully fix his crappy car.
follow the radius rod to x-member and take off one nut . undo the 2 bolts on the lca and your done . replace opposite way . hand start the 2 bolts first so you don`t bind them up . also make sure the x-member didn`t get pushed backwards too. you can loosen the bolts on it and slide it back forward.
Thats what I'm afraid of is the front x-member is smashed up. I don't think he smacked anything but the wheel, but the only damage I saw was radius rod and it seems pretty far back to just be the radius rod, but who knows. I need to take a closer look. How is the front nut on the rod reached. Do I have to take off the bumper or anything?
